What is the Application of Sugarcane Bagasse after Drying?
Sugarcane bagasse is the main by-product of sugar industry, which is rich in a large amount of cellulose and other nutrients, and is a high-quality feed and environmental protection material raw materials. However, bagasse contains a large amount of water. Before recycling, bagasse dryer is needed to reduce the water content and facilitate reprocessing.
At present, the most commonly used drying method of bagasse is dehydration first, followed by high-temperature hot air drying process. Our bagasse dryer is specially designed and developed according to the characteristics of sugarcane bagasse. The moisture in bagasse is quickly evaporated and gasified through the heat exchange. The processing capacity of the drying system can be customized to meet the needs of bagasse drying in various scales. A variety of heating sources are selected according to users’ requirements. The dried sugarcane bagasse has wide applications.
Sugarcane bagasse contains high sugar content and nutrients, so it can be used as feed. After recycling, the bagasse can be mixed with urea or amine, and then fermented. After drying, it can be ground into powder and then used as feed for cattle, sheep, pigs, cow, etc.
The cellulose in bagasse can be converted into sugar to produce alcohol or feed yeast. With the new technology, 100 liters of alcohol can be extracted from each ton of bagasse, increasing the alcohol output of sugarcane from 7740 liters to 13800 liters. Without expanding the planting area of sugarcane, the alcohol output can be doubled, and the cost can be reduced by 40%.
Bagasse can also be used as an alternative raw material to wood for the production of paper cup, fully degradable agricultural film and catering appliances. Among them, the fully degradable agricultural film is made of 100% bagasse pulp, which can be recycled for paper making and can be naturally degraded, solving the problem of white pollution caused by using polystyrene catering utensils and is considered as the most promising new achievement. The catering products made of bagasse have high whiteness and compactness, good temperature and oil resistance, non-toxic and tasteless, can be completely degraded within three months. There is no pollution in the production process, and the production cost is much lower than that of pulp molded fast food boxes.
The chemical composition of bagasse is similar to that of wood, so it is a good raw material for board making. Due to the small specific gravity and good fiber quality of bagasse, the boards produced by bagasse are high in strength and light in weight, free from biological damage, low in water absorption and free from corrosion by seawater. It has good fire resistance, good flame retardancy, good machining performance and decorative performance, so it is suitable for furniture, building, carriage, ship and other manufacturing industries. The realization of high-density composite material technology not only solves the pollution discharge problem of agricultural waste and urban waste, but also saves limited forestry resources, which will have a huge impact on the environmental protection industry.
